CBE Curriculum – (Grade 1 – Grade 9)

In the Competency-Based Education, learners develop communication, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. They build digital literacy, self-awareness, and adaptability through practical, student-centered activities. The curriculum emphasizes values, responsibility, and application of knowledge to real-life situations, nurturing holistic, competent, and independent individuals.

Our Learning Approach

  • Student-centered teaching
  • Blended and digital learning tools
  • Small class sizes; a maximum of 25 per stream
  • Continuous progress monitoring and regular feedback
  • Enrichment and academic support programs

Support Systems

  • Learning support and intervention
  • Counseling and SEL (Social-Emotional Learning)
  • Career development and mentorship programs

As the world globalizes and the pressure for academic performance mounts, education must evolve, but it must never sacrifice the child’s emotional, cognitive and learning development. Kiota to this end believes in challenging students to excel not only in their studies, but also in their personal development outside the classroom.

School Curricular System

We currently cater for grade 1-5 and will progress to class 8 for 844 and grade 6 for CBE.

Activities

We offer co-curricular activities such as ballet, piano, Tae Kwondo among others to help grow children holistically. Social and emotional well-being facilitates absorption of formally taught content.

We encourage a positive and open relationship between parents and teachers throughout the term in support of the child’s development and wellbeing. We have curriculum evenings at the beginning of the year in which parents get to know what children will be learning in the new class as well as interact with the teachers. We use both practical methods and ICT tools to deliver lessons.
