Developing Young Minds

Kiota Primary prides itself with providing an environment where learners thrive, we provide interesting activities as well as stimulating lessons. We see Kiota providing a progressive approach to education, following a local system whilst having an international outlook. The curriculum , while primarily being The Competency Based Curriculum (CBC), is tweaked to borrow aspects from other international systems including the British National Curriculum, International Baccalaureate and the American System.

As the world globalizes and the pressure for academic performance mounts, education must evolve, but it must never sacrifice the child’s emotional, cognitive and learning development. Kiota to this end believes in challenging students to excel not only in their studies, but also in their personal development outside the classroom.

School Curricular System

We currently cater for grade 1-5 and will progress to class 8 for 844 and grade 6 for CBE.

Activities

We offer co-curricular activities such as ballet, piano, Tae Kwondo among others to help grow children holistically. Social and emotional well-being facilitates absorption of formally taught content.

We encourage a positive and open relationship between parents and teachers throughout the term in support of the child’s development and wellbeing. We have curriculum evenings at the beginning of the year in which parents get to know what children will be learning in the new class as well as interact with the teachers. We use both practical methods and ICT tools to deliver lessons.
